This month in MBUK magazine, Biketest is back! We bring you comprehensive reviews of the six hottest trendsetting bikes in 2020. We document the rise of West Country lad Laurie Greenland, embark on an MTB adventure in Italy’s Dolomites and finally head out on our first group ride since lockdown began.
We also go behind the scenes with DMR pedals and Zipp Wheels, and get the lowdown on all the latest kit in Wrecked and Rated.

We’re finally able to go out and test new bikes again! Over the course of 2020’s UK lockdown, our bike shed has been steadily filling with all sorts of exciting machines and, now that restrictions are easing, we’ve taken six of the hottest new trendsetting bikes out to the trails for a good old thrashing. It’s about time!
Stepping up to the big league
Recent World Cup winner Laurie Greenland
From wildcard outsider to podium-pusher, Bristol’s Laurie Greenland’s trajectory to success seems unstoppable. We catch up with the West Country wonder and plot the course of his meteoric rise to World Cup winner.
Legends of the fall line
’90s freeride legends in the Dolomite mountains of Italy – a recipe for fun! Photo: Ale Di Lullo
Freeride legends Darren Berrecloth, Richie Schley and Geoff Gulevich pioneered stylish mountain biking back in the ‘90s, but they aren’t ready to hang up their helmets just yet. Join this rag-tag band of MTB heroes on a crazy trip through Italy’s Dolomites and see if these old dogs can nail some new tricks.
Getting the band back together

Like most of the UK, we’ve been sitting forlornly indoors for months, unable to go out on proper MTB rides. Thankfully, things are changing for the better and, with the sun shining and social-distancing in practice, we finally get together for a proper ride in the Gloucestershire woods.

Our map maker, Max Darkins, heads to the Chiltern Hills AONB and discovers a postcard-picturesque summer landscape of aromatic wild flowers, sun-dappled woodland tracks and lush pine forests – all located just outside London.

We pop over to Tidworth Freeride in Wiltshire to check out the awesome trail features on offer – but end up with front-row seats at a photo competition between Ben ‘Deakinator’ Deakin and Grant ‘Chopper’ Fielder.
And that’s not all…
