Kirroughtree

Home to ‘McMoab’, a huge granite outcrop reached by traversing slabs and boulder causeways, Kirroughtree has some fantastic natural features that make for a unique ride. A new blue/red trail section has been added this year – ‘Kirri Crossover’, 500m of sheer delight that twists up above the Bruntis Loch and drops down through a series of berms to link back to the original trail.

THE TRAILS:

BARGALY WOOD (6KM, GREEN)

LARG HILL (10KM, BLUE)

A great introduction to mountain biking, this route is more than half singletrack, with small drops to hone skills on.

DOON HILL EXTENSION (4KM, BLUE)

This short extension to the Larg Hill loop takes you past some great views, includes even more bermy fun and rejoins the main trail later on.

THE TWISTER (17KM, RED)

A physically demanding classic XC trail that winds down the hill rather than plunging. There’s narrow singletrack and tight corners as it flows down the hillside.

BLACK CRAIGS (31KM, BLACK)

This singletrack trail follows the red route to the halfway point before splitting off. From here you’re in for a technical treat, with lots of fun, rocky descents and steep slabs to climb, plus the infamous ‘McMoab’, with arrows pointing to the best line choices – you’ll need great skill not to dab on this section.
