In our latest Subscriber Zone competition (MBUK 403), we’ve teamed up with brake pad specialists Sinter to give away six sets of pads to six lucky winners.
Sinter may be a relatively new name in mountain biking, but they’re the market-leading manufacturer of go-kart brake pads and are aiming to make big waves in cycling, too. Founded in 1969 by two brothers, the company now produce more than two million pads per year at their 2,500sq m, state-of-the-art plant in Slovenia, where they employ 25 experts. This season, they worked with Team Unior-Sinter to hone their new MTB pads on the World Cup downhill and cross-country circuits.
About the prize
Sinter are giving away six sets of MTB brake pads to six lucky MBUK subscribers. Winners will get:
- 2 pairs of Sinter Performance pads (black), for all-round riding
- 2 pairs of Sinter Race pads (green), with more power, modulation and fade resistance when hammering flat-out
- 2 pairs of Sinter Electric pads (blue), with high performance but slower wear for e-bike use (although Sinter’s riders like to run these out back on their regular bikes, too)
The pads are available to fit brakes from Avid/SRAM, Formula, Hayes, Hope, Magura, Shimano, Tektro/TRP and more.

* For the purposes of this competition, a ‘year’s supply’ is defined as six pairs of pads. How many pads you actually get through in year will depend massively on where and how often you ride.
