Ride Together 2023 hits BikePark Wales

NOTE: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we've reluctantly decided to put all remaining Ride Together rides on hold for 2023. Ride Together means a lot to us here at MBUK, so we’re hoping to reinvigorate the rides for 2024 – watch this space! If you or anyone you know needs help and someone to talk to, visit CALM online or call their helpline on 0800 58 58 58, open from 5pm to midnight, 365 days a year – the MBUK, Nukeproof and CALM teams

We took to the trails of BikePark Wales last week on a misty and murky – but blissfully dry – day with a group of readers, industry folk and pro riders for our first Ride Together event of 2023.

Jointly organised with Nukeproof Bikes and supported by CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably), the aim of these group ride-outs is to get people together in a relaxed environment where there's not only the chance to tackle some fun trails, but also time to chat over a brew.

Hopefully, this will ultimately help create a network of like-minded people to head out for a mood-boosting mountain bike ride with.

The readers and social media followers who were successful in our draw for places were joined by Rob Sherratt and Katie Wooster from Nukeproof's marketing team, pro riders Leo 'Lando Steezy' Smith and Cai Grocott, and MBUK staffers Weavs, JCW and Julia, plus snapper Laurence Crossman-Emms.

To start things off, BPW coaches Griff Rhys Morgan and Justin Graham went over some basic techniques on the pump track, then it was time to hit the trails. Several uplifts and some top grub later, the day was done. We had a blast – and are pretty sure everyone else did, too!
